How the color by number works
Every square on the color by number sheet holds an addition fact, and the key gives a color for each answer: 13 is orange, 7 is brown, 11 is green and 16 is light blue. Solve the sum, color the square, and a pumpkin appears. A wrong answer shows up as a square that doesn’t fit the picture, so children can find and fix their own mistakes. The finished picture is on page 2.
Thanksgiving math activities for the classroom
- Feather race: hand out the turkey sheet and have children color each feather once its answer is checked. The first full turkey wins.
- Table math: the word problems are about pies, place settings and leftovers. Ask children to write one more problem about their own Thanksgiving table and swap with a partner.
- Pumpkin patch warm-up: one row of the subtraction sheet a day in the week before the break keeps facts within 20 fresh.
Facts a child misses twice on paper are the ones to drill. A one-minute Num Drill quiz finds the facts a child is slow on and brings them back until they stick. Teachers can send a class straight to a skill with an assignment link; see Num Drill for teachers.
December is next: the Christmas math worksheets have ornament trees, a color by number tree and division facts. Everyday sheets are on the printable worksheets page.

Yes. All 5 are free PDFs to download, print, copy and share for home or classroom use, with no login, sign-up or email.
What grades are the Thanksgiving math worksheets for?
Grades 1 to 4. The turkey, pumpkin patch and color by number sheets practice addition and subtraction within 20 (grades 1–2), the multiplication facts suit grades 3–4, and the word problems span grades 2–4.
Do the worksheets have answer keys?
Yes. Every worksheet has its answer key on page 2 of the same PDF. The color by number key is the finished, colored pumpkin.
Will the worksheets print in black and white?
Yes. The autumn trim is small and light, so the pages print cheaply in black and white, and the turkey and pumpkins are left blank for coloring.
